He is the author of a new scientific direction Geonics (geomimetics) within the framework of which the theory of technogenic metasomatosis in building materials science, laws of affinity of structures and similarity are formulated. Realization of theoretical provisions and system approach to the solution of problems formulated in the framework of geonics (geomimetics), allowed to develop methodological bases of creation of effective building composites of new generation, protecting a person from the negative impact of anomalous natural and anthropogenic processes. Taking into account the theoretical provisions of geonics (geomimetics) the laws of affinity of structures and similarity are proposed. The theory of "technogenic metasomatosis" in building materials science was formulated. On the basis of these laws a wide nomenclature of new generation construction composites was developed, including those for additive technologies in construction. The fundamental basis of designing and creation of composites for additive technologies is the transition to transdisciplinary research.
The international scientific and educational center "Geonics (Geomimetics)" has been created, which carries out great work on the development of new generation construction materials and makes a significant contribution to the modern innovative educational process.
V.S. Lesovik has developed the concept of educational process based on transdisciplinary approaches. Since 2005 webinars and international congresses have been organized. More than 50 reports are posted on the Internet, including in English and Arabic.
The results of scientific works of V.S. Lesovik on the integrated use of mineral resources of Kursk magnetic anomaly and Arkhangelsk diamondiferous province allowed to approve by the State Commission on Reserves non-metallic raw materials on the basis of which dozens of factories for the production of construction composites were built, tens of millions of square meters of housing, industrial buildings and structures were erected, thousands of kilometers of roads and sidewalks were repaired, reconstructed and built. The received experience was used both in the Russian Federation and for solving problems in many countries of Latin America, Arab states, China, the Kingdom of Cambodia and others.
V.S. Lesovik was one of the initiators and founders of the Interregional Public Organization "Association of Scientists and Specialists in the Field of Building Materials Science" and, taking into account his wide popularity in scientific and pedagogical circles of higher school, in 1994 he was elected Vice-President and a member of the Association Council.
